Professor Hiroshi Harada was awarded the title of IEEE Fellow

Background

The IEEE Fellow is one of the most prestigious achievement awards given by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world's largest professional society in the fields of electrical and electronics engineering and information and communication engineering.
The IEEE recognizes a very limited number (less than 0.1% of Voting Members) of researchers who have made distinguished achievements in their fields and contributed to the innovation and progress of the world each year.
Professor Hiroshi Harada's promotion to Fellow was announced in the “IEEE Fellow Class of 2025”.

Professor Hiroshi Harada's Fellow achievement is “For technical leadership and contributions in wireless smart utility networks and software-defined cognitive radio”.
The international wireless communication standard Wi-SUN (Wireless Smart Utility Network), which was researched, developed, standardized, and put into practical use ahead of the rest of the world - the IoT (Internet of Things) for smart meters, smart cities, and other applications. In addition, the Fellowship was awarded in recognition of his technical leadership and contributions to cognitive radio technology/software radio technology, which enables wireless devices to recognize radio frequency usage and dynamically select available radio systems or share frequencies between different radio communication systems.
